Big Weeks
Matthew Stafford QB, Lions, vs. Chiefs (FanDuel $6,900/DraftKings $5,500)
The Chiefs haven’t been awful against opposing QBs this season. But two of the three they’ve faced are Derek Carr and Gardner Minshew. Home game in the dome, could be plenty of points.
Randall Cobb WR, Cowboys, at Saints (FD $5,100/DK $4,400)
The Saints have allowed the third-most points to opposing slot receivers and receivers overall. Michael Gallup is out and Amari Cooper is possibly less than 100 percent with an ankle injury.
Larry Fitzgerald WR, Cardinals, vs. Seahawks (FD $5,900/DK $5,600)
Seattle’s pass defense has been — how do we put this? — not good. Despite relatively strong numbers against slot receivers, Fitzgerald’s target share and the lack of a discouraging one-on-one matchup with any Seahawks DB outweigh any narrow statistical anomaly.
Dontrelle Inman WR, Chargers, at Dolphins (FD $4,800/DK $3,000)
Receiver Mike Williams is out with a back injury. Secondary RB Justin Jackson is out with an ankle problem. Someone besides Keenan Allen has to score some points.
Small Weaks
Jameis Winston QB, Buccaneers, at Rams (FD $7,500/DK $5,700)
The Rams’ secondary is fierce. And they have the best defensive lineman in football in Aaron Darnold putting pressure on an erratic QB.
Frank Gore RB, Bills, vs. Patriots (FD $5,700/DK $4,400)
He will continue to get volume as long as Devin Singletary is out. But only the Rams have allowed fewer fantasy points to opposing RBs. Your only hope here is a cheap TD, because the yardage points won’t be there.
Todd Gurley RB, Rams, vs. Buccaneers (FD $6,800/DK $7,000)
Tampa Bay put the clamps on Christian McCaffrey. They held Saquon Barkley in check before he was injured. They stifled the 49ers’ three-headed backfield in the opener. Don’t sit him in your seasonal leagues, but not a wise play in daily contests — particularly 50/50 formats.
John Brown WR, Bills, vs. Patriots (FD $5,600/DK $5,300)
The New England secondary is a monster. Brown figures to line up most often against Stephon Gilmore. That doesn’t bode well for Brown.
