Bears coach Matt Nagy said the team is changing its locker room policy on social media after running back Tarik Cohen went on Instagram Live following the team’s Monday night win over the Redskins and exposed naked teammate Kyle Long to Cohen’s 223,000 Instagram followers.
“Without a doubt, it is [a policy going forward],” Nagy said Wednesday. “First of all, it’s a league rule, so that’s that. And I think it’s unfortunate that that happened. Tarik feels bad and is apologetic and embarrassed that it happened.
“I think it’s something that — what you need to do is you learn from it. It was a mistake and nothing was malicious at all. But it was a mistake, so now let’s make sure that mistake doesn’t happen again to all of our players.”
Players aren’t allowed to post messages on social media beginning 90 minutes before kickoff through postgame interviews, per NFL policy.
The Bears have been posting videos of their postgame locker room celebrations on their official Twitter account, referring to the festive room as “Club Dub.”
