Michael Vick slams Cam Newton’s bold style: Football isn’t ‘a fashion show’

Cam Newton continues to take hits from the sideline.

Former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick took aim at the injured Newton during a recent appearance on FS1’s “Speak for Yourself,” criticizing the Panthers quarterback’s outlandish post-game ensembles.

“I didn’t like it,” Vick said. “You got everybody watching, including your teammates. This is not a fashion show. This is football.”

Vick, who spent nearly two years of his prime in prison for his role in a dog-fighting ring, then questioned the former MVP’s leadership.

“It’s a different demeanor, a different approach you gotta take as far as your appearance and everything, man,” Vick said. “Everything plays a factor at the quarterback position.”

Newton remains sidelined indefinitely with a left foot sprain. The Panthers have since turned to Kyle Allen.
