Daniel Jones named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after Giants debut

Daniel Jones was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for his exploits at Tampa Bay in his first NFL start. The last player to do that was Marcus Mariota, who won the AFC award in Week 1 of the 2015 season for the Titans.

Jones completed 23 of 36 passes for 336 yards. He threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, guiding the Giants back from an 18-point halftime deficit to win — only the second time in franchise history and the first time in 70 years that has happened.

Eli Manning, in his 16-year career, has won four Player of the Week awards, most recently Week 14 in 2015.
