Mike Francesa’s ironic role in Adam Sandler movie

Mike Francesa is known for making incorrect predictions, so it is probably best that he has turned into a bookie.

In the forthcoming Adam Sandler drama “Uncut Gems,” Francesa will play Sandler’s bookie. Francesa is in two or three scenes in the movie, which is being produced by A24 Films.

The movie’s trailer is slated to be released on Tuesday, which Francesa is expected to be in briefly. In the film, future NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett is Sandler’s co-star. It will be in theaters in December.

Sandler has used sports broadcasters in his movies before, including Dan Patrick.

Francesa and his former partner, Chris Russo, played themselves in the 2003 movie “Undefeated,” according to IMDB.

Francesa’s future at WFAN is still not entirely clear. After his $8.99-per-month subscription app failed as a business, Entercom, FAN’s parent company, took it over and has made all of Francesa’s digital content free. The app was closed down a year after it began. He will continue his regular 3-6:30 afternoon show through the rest of this year.

There have been discussions of Francesa reducing his time on FAN after the New Year and increasing his digital presence on Radio.com, though it is unknown if anything has been decided yet.

FAN has picked up the option on Maggie Gray’s contract and is in negotiations to retain Bart Scott. The station let go of the third member of CMB, Chris Carlin, earlier this month.
