Rutgers is so bad it’s even botching its celebrations.
The Scarlett Knights lost 30-16 to Boston College in Piscataway on Saturday afternoon to drop to 1-2 and saw one of their offensive lineman deliver arguably the hardest hit to quarterback Art Sitkowski.
After Sitkowski threw a 74-yard touchdown to Raheem Blackshear in the first quarter, center Mike Maietti lifted his quarterback up in the air in celebration before things got weird. Maietti, instead of giving Sitkowski a pat on the back, ended up punching the signal caller in the face.
Sitkowski didn’t seem to be fazed by the hit, but Rutgers never recovered as they were outscored 23-9 after the first quarter. He finished 23-for-33 for 304 yards and an interception.
