The 2019 Emmy Awards air Sunday night on Fox (8 to 11 p.m. on WNYW/Ch. 5).
Here are my picks for who will be called up to the stage at the Microsoft Theater in LA to deliver a startled, fumbling “Oh my God!” winner’s speech — before being ushered backstage proudly clutching an Emmy statuette. We’ll see soon enough how it all shakes out.
Drama Series

“Bodyguard”
Winner: “Game of Thrones” This is a really tough category — with “Bodyguard” and “Succession” looming large — but it’s hard to ignore the phenomenon that is “GoT,” despite a meh final season.

Comedy Series
Winner: “Barry” “Barry” is one of TV’s most understated series, with a terrific cast (including Bill Hader and Henry Winkler) that kept the ball rolling in Season 2. If this doesn’t win, the Emmy will go to “Fleabag.”

Winner: “When They See Us” “Chernobyl” turned a depressing subject into a multilayered, personality-driven talker, but “When They See Us” continues to generate headlines as viewers reassess the infamous Central Park Five case and its aftermath.

Winner: Kit Harington, “Game of Thrones” This is a surprisingly weak category. I’m sticking with Harington, who’s not known as a master thespian but will ride the feel-good “GoT” Emmy express.

Winner: Laura Linney, “Ozark” Something tells me it’ll be Linney. Davis is on a terrible show, Oh and Comer will cancel each other out, and no one cares about Wright’s “House of Cards” anymore.

Winner: Bill Hader, “Barry” This one’s a no-brainer. Hader will repeat his 2018 Emmy win.

Winner: Phoebe Waller-Bridge, “Fleabag” Another no-brainer. Creator and star Waller-Bridge is a fan and TV academy favorite who’s on a hot streak (including with “Killing Eve,” which she exec-produces). And enough already with the hollow, overblown “Mrs. Maisel.”

Winner: Patricia Arquette, “Escape at Dannemora” What a year for Arquette, who was terrific in “Escape at Dannemora.” She was also nominated (Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie) for “The Act” — was there a creepier character on TV this year than Dee Dee Blanchard in “The Act”?

Winner: “Somebody Feed Phil” It may not be the buzziest category. But the delightful Netflix series “Somebody Feed Phil” — a hybrid food/travel adventure hosted by “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator Phil Rosenthal — is funny, informative and just plain fun to watch.
