Cops bust turnstile jumper heading to court with pot and a loaded gun

A Bronx man arrested for fare jumping was carrying a gun and three dozen bags of weed — and told cops he pulled the brainless move because he was rushing to court to appear for a worse crime, law enforcement sources said Thursday.

Ex-con Billy Walters, 37, allegedly slipped through an emergency subway gate at the 149th Street station without paying at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest affidavit.

When a police officer stopped him, she allegedly spotted a loaded .45-caliber Sig Sauer in his waistband — at which point he rattled off the worst excuse ever, the officer said.

“I didn’t pay, because I was running late to go to court. I got arrested yesterday,” Walters allegedly blabbed to her.

The fare-skipper — who on Monday was busted on menacing charges for allegedly flashing a gun at someone — then claimed he had a license for the semi-automatic weapon, the affidavit states.

“I have a Pennsylvania license to carry the gun. I carry that gun for protection. Somebody busted my face,” he said, according to the affidavit.

But the cop did a search, learned he had no New York City gun license and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon — along with theft of services.

After a search, he also was caught allegedly carrying a shopping bag filed with 36 smaller baggies of weed, and was charged with possession, according to police.
