Jets to sign David Fales in desperate quarterback search

The Jets have their temporary quarterback solution.

The team is planning to sign David Fales to back up Luke Falk, The Post’s Brian Costello confirmed. Fales has experience with Jets coach Adam Gase, serving as a backup quarterback in Miami for two seasons while Gase was the head coach of the Dolphins.

Fales, 28, has completed 31 of 48 passes for 287 yards, one touchdown and one interception in his NFL career. Fales was with the Lions this summer, but was waived in August.

The move became necessary when Trevor Siemian suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Monday night’s loss to the Browns. Starter Sam Darnold is already out with mononucleosis, though he hopes to return after the Jets bye in Week 5.
