The woman charged in the case of missing Connecticut mom Jennifer Dulos — and later slammed as a “lying lover” — appeared in court Wednesday on new charges.
Michelle Troconis briefly appeared in Norwalk Superior Court but didn’t enter a plea to an additional charge of tampering with evidence.
Troconis and her then-boyfriend, Fotis Dulos, Jennifer’s estranged husband, initially were arrested in June in connection with the mother of five’s disappearance. They were charged with evidence tampering and hindering prosecution.
Police said the two were caught on surveillance camera making several stops in Connecticut to dump garbage bags containing items stained with Jennifer’s blood.
Troconis and Fotis were rearrested earlier this month on the new count relating to a Toyota pickup truck that investigators believe was used to transport Jennifer’s body.
Both are out on bail.
The latest arrest warrant revealed how Troconis lied to investigators at first — but eventually admitted that she and Fotis drafted “alibi scripts” to help them remember details of the events of May 24 and 25, around the same time Jennifer was last seen.
“The new warrant speaks of a lying lover and handyman with something to hide,” Fotis’ lawyer Norm Pattis previously said, the Connecticut Post reported. “When do we get the chance to question these folks?”
Jennifer, 50, was last seen May 24 after dropping her children off at school. She and Fotis were locked in a contentious divorce battle when she went missing.
Authorities have been searching for her body since, while a judge issued a gag order in the case barring lawyers and authorities from speaking publicly about certain details of the case.
Neither Troconis, wearing a black pantsuit and stilettos, nor her lawyer commented after Wednesday’s court hearing. She’s due back in court Oct. 10.
