Multiple injured after NYPD car crashes into storefront

A police cruiser crashed into the front of a Brooklyn health food store on Saturday night — injuring five people, including two cops — after it was nailed by another vehicle, officials said.

The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. in front of the Landau’s Health Tree on 13th Ave in Borough Park, according to NYPD and FDNY officials.

Cops said the NYPD vehicle that got hit — a Ford Explorer — was traveling southbound on 13th Avenue when the driver of a mini-van slammed into it.

Cops said it was unclear who had the right-of-way.

Surveillance video shows the police cruiser mounting the curb and crashing into the front of Landau’s, striking at least two women.

Paramedics rushed the pair to the hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The cops and the driver of the mini-van were also hospitalized and expected to be OK.

Photos and video posted on social media show large crowds of people gathered around the crash scene, where the cop car and mini-van remained late Saturday.

“A lot of people came running,” said witness Jacob Klein, 27. “The [female victims] were screaming. It was very loud…very scary.”

Another witness, Moe Klein, 30, told The Post it was “a big miracle that everyone is alive.”

“I heard the noise. It sounded like a bomb — literally,” Klein said. “We came running from the corner. There were 20 people trying to pick up the car. Two girls were walking on the sidewalk and got hit…One was sitting on the floor. One was pinned under the wheel. Smashed or pinned. Like I said it’s a big miracle.”
