An NYPD cop was pelted with a cup of urine while working in Bellevue Hospital Wednesday — the latest in a line of assaults that have rocked the department, police said.
The stomach-churning incident happened about 8:40 p.m. inside the hospital’s psychiatric ward, where the officer was assigned to a patient who was being evaluated, law enforcement sources said.
While waiting for his prisoner, the officer overheard a different patient brag that he could get arrested if he threw urine on a cop, sources said.
The cop watched as Michael Gordon, who had just been discharged but didn’t want to leave, went into a nearby bathroom. The 42-year-old then emerged with a cup of the gross liquid and approached the officer, who took out his taser and demanded Gordon drop the vessel, according to sources.
Instead, Gordon drenched the cop in pee from head to toe, the sources said.
The officer then Tasered Gordon, who was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of noxious matter and obstruction of governmental administration.
The officer, who experienced pain in his eye, was treated and released from the hospital.
It’s not the first time Gordon perpetrated a pee-attack — he was busted last year on March 14 for throwing urine on a Bellevue Hospital security guard, sources said.
Wednesday’s urine attack came just one day after an officer who responded to a Bronx fire for crowd control was doused with a half-gallon of milk.
Earlier this summer, several people were caught on video throwing water on officers in Manhattan, The Bronx and Brooklyn.
