LeSean McCoy didn’t have to wait long to find a new team.
The six-time Pro Bowl running back, who was cut by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, is reuniting with his old coach Andy Reid and joining the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year, $4 million deal, according to multiple reports.
McCoy, 31, is getting $3 million guaranteed.
Reid coached McCoy for four seasons when the two were with the Philadelphia Eagles, who selected McCoy in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. In 2011, McCoy scored a league-leading and career-high 17 rushing touchdowns and added three receiving scores. McCoy steps into a Kansas City backfield which saw Carlos Hyde traded to the Houston Texans on Saturday.
McCoy was a Pro Bowler as recently as 2017 but had a rough season last year, rushing for just 514 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games, adding 34 catches for 238 yards. The Bills drafted rookie Devin Singletary in the third round this year and also added veteran Frank Gore and former Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon.
