A plea deal may be in the works for the Queens man charged with murder for allegedly leaving his ex to suffocate inside a suitcase he left on the side of the road in Greenwich, Conn., according to reports.
The negotiations were revealed in court filings in which prosecutors ask for more time as “preliminary” discussions on a deal for accused killer Javier Da Silva, 24, continue, Greenwichtime.com reported.
The body of Valerie Reyes, 24, of New Rochelle, was discovered Feb. 5.
Da Silva, an immigrant from Venezuela who overstayed his visa and worked as a barista, was arrested after he tried to use Reyes’ ATM card to withdraw $1,000 from her bank account.
“I put her in the suitcase and ran,” he told The Post in a jailhouse interview.
“I’m a bad person.”
