Dave Chappelle Netflix 2019: Will ‘Sticks & Stones’ tickle funny bones?

He’s back — and in the middle of nowhere.

“This is Dave,” says Morgan Freeman in the one-minute trailer released Thursday to hype Dave Chappelle’s new Netflix stand-up “comedy event.”

As the comedian trudges through the desert in an extremely long T-shirt, everybody’s favorite narrator opines: “He tells jokes for a living. Hopefully he makes people laugh.”

If the trailer is any indication, Chappelle’s “Sticks & Stones” just might take place on an arid plain.

“I guess what I’m trying to say is,” Freeman continues as Chappelle, 45, sits down on a stool in front of a white screen surreally placed in the middle of the no man’s land.

“If you say anything, you risk everything,” Freeman says as the comedian removes his shades. “He’s back, folks.”

“Sticks & Stones” premieres Monday, Aug. 26.

In addition to decades of work on the club circuit and silver screen, the award-winning comic has cranked out a series of acclaimed live-to-tape Netflix specials: “The Age of Spin,” “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “Equanimity” and “The Bird Revelation.”

“Equanimity” and his guest host turn on “Saturday Night Live” scored him Emmy Awards in 2018 and 2017, respectively.

Plus, all four of his previous concert specials were released as albums, earning the former “Chappelle’s Show” star Grammy Awards in 2018 and 2019.

Could a Tony be next?

The funny guy made his Great White Way debut in “Dave Chappelle Live on Broadway,” with a limited engagement run in July at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
