Red Sox’s Rick Porcello punches two TVs in dugout outburst

When Rick Porcello struggles, the Red Sox pay the price. So does the dugout.

The Boston pitcher punched two TVs hanging in the Fenway Park dugout Wednesday night after giving up six earned runs in 5²/₃ innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox lost, 8-5, falling 10 games behind the first-place Yankees.

Both screens were unrecognizable after the double-fist shot, and it wasn’t Porcello’s first run-in with an inanimate object.

In April, he hurled a Gatorade jug against the wall after surrendering seven earned runs in a loss to Arizona.

The righty was 9-7 with a 5.55 ERA entering Wednesday’s game.
