Two robbers posing as city housing workers stole $2,500 from a man in a housing complex on the West Side of Manhattan Wednesday afternoon, cops said.
The men, wearing blue New York City Housing Authority uniforms, robbed the man at the Lillian Wald Houses at 691 FDR Drive just after 12:30 p.m., according to police.
“It’s crazy, now you can’t even open your door to anybody, unless you really know them,” a 65-year-old woman who would only give her first name, Ivette, told The Post. “I’ve lived here 33 years, nothing like this has happened.”
Cops were still hunting for the thieves Wednesday afternoon.
