As the MLB trade deadline came and went, Noah Syndergaard celebrated that he was still with the Mets.
The star pitcher posted a classic movie clip from the “The Wolf of Wall Street” in which Leonardo DiCaprio maniacally chants, “I am not leaving.”
He captioned the post with “League source tells…”
The 4 p.m. passing of the deadline made official what was suspected on Tuesday night, when the Mets let Syndergaard pitch despite trade rumors. Syndergaard responded by striking out 11 White Sox in the Mets’ 5-2 win.
“He pitched pretty well, and we were fired up to see that. … This idea that we wanted him out of here couldn’t have been further from the truth,” Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen told reporters after the deadline passed.
