North Korea fired multiple unidentified projectiles off its east coast Wednesday — less than a week after the country test fired two ballistic missiles, the South Korean military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
The latest launch was from the Hodo peninsula. South Korea’s JCS said in a statement they’re monitoring the situation.
North Korea last Thursday sent two ballistic missiles 267 miles over the Pacific Ocean. They were launched from Wonsan.
A day after last week’s launch, North Korea said the test firing was a “solemn warning” over South Korea’s weapons development and expected military drills, which the North considered an act of hostility toward its capital, Pyongyang.
Wednesday marks the second North Korea projectile launch since the historic border meeting and handshake between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The two leaders at that summit agreed to resume nuclear talks.
