Dad of Bianca Devins murder suspect once threatened to cut wife’s throat, kill himself

The father of Brandon Andrew Clark — who allegedly slit the throat of social media star Bianca Devins and then posted photos of her dead body online — once threatened to kill the young man’s mother in the exact same way, as well as himself.

“There was some dysfunction,” said Jason W. Clark in a message to CNYCentral on Wednesday.

The Fulton man reportedly held his wife, Michelle Clark, hostage for 10 hours back in 2010 when Brandon was around 12 years old.

Police said he kept authorities at bay by threatening to “cut her throat.”

“He wanted to make sure police knew he had the knife to my jugular,” Michelle Clark told police, according to court papers obtained by The Post-Standard.

“I thought he was going to kill me,” she said.

Clark claimed he would also use the blade — described as a black-handled kitchen knife — to take his own life, the court papers say. It’s unclear if Brandon was present during the incident.

The 21-year-old allegedly killed Devins, 17, by slitting her throat and then tried to do the same to himself. Authorities managed to stop him, though, and he was rushed to a local hospital in time to be saved from his injuries.

Utica police told CNYCentral that they have no indication at the moment that Brandon was inspired to kill Devins by what happened with his father.

The incident reportedly started over a dispute between him and Brandon’s mother, which ended with Clark laying his hands on her. Michelle’s mother, who lived with them at the time, called police and they arrived on the scene to find Clark with the knife — claiming he was “going to die tonight.”

Officers were eventually able to storm the house and arrest Clark, according to court documents.

He was charged with felony assault, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment and aggravated criminal contempt — as well as misdemeanor menacing and obstructing governmental administration. Prosecutors reportedly offered him a plea deal, which got Clark a shortened sentence of two to four years in prison. He would not elaborate Wednesday when questioned by CNYCentral about the case.

Brandon, who is charged with second-degree murder, faces up to life in prison if convicted. Authorities believe he killed Devins after seeing her kiss another man at a concert in Queens.
