Suspected subway menace is out on bail thanks to his mom

Alleged subway saboteur Isaiah Thompson was sprung from the Tombs early Saturday, records show.

Thompson’s mother had been working late into Friday night to raise the necessary funds to free her 23-year-old son from the Manhattan Detention Complex. His bail, which was set at $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash, was posted just before 4 a.m., according to the Department of Correction.

Thompson is suspected of causing about 750 transit delays in the city since March by slipping into the control cabs of various subway trains and pulling the emergency brake.

No one answered the door at Thompson’s Clinton Hill home Saturday, but one neighbor wasn’t surprised to hear about his alleged antics.

“One thing I can tell you, he never pays [the] fare. I have seen him jump the turnstile at Nevins Street and Washington Ave,” the neighbor said. “There is no question in my mind that he is mentally sick.”

A transit conductor who lives nearby couldn’t stop laughing when he found out Thompson resides in his neighborhood.

He doesn’t know Thompson but said the alleged subway antics are all he and his coworkers are talking about.

“The dude is a loser,” said the conductor, who didn’t give his name. “Do something with yourself, get a job, get a girlfriend, go play video games – just do something.”

Thompson, who according to sources told cops, “I like to create mayhem,” and “I like to inconvenience people,” earned kudos from the conductor for his bluntness.

“At least he is honest,” the conductor said.

On Friday, defense attorney Eliza Orlins claimed her client was being “villainized” and griped the case had been sensationalized.
