DJ Jinx killer gets jail time after sex abuse arrest

The man who admitted to fatally mowing down Brooklyn’s DJ Jinx was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Wednesday — after violating the terms of his plea deal when he was arrested for allegedly molesting a teenage relative.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chung handed Kevin Ozoria, 28, a split sentence of jail time followed by five years of probation plus 100 hours of community service, in a program that doesn’t involve children.

“You would think they would give him more years,” said Gina Zacate, the victim’s cousin. “I mean, it was a death. It’s someone who’s not here today.”

Popular Spanish language Mega 97.9 FM DJ, whose real name is Jean Paul Guerrero, was killed in a 2016 hit-and-run that Ozoria later admitted to. After copping a plea deal in March, Ozoria would have been sentenced to just the probation and community service at his May 1 sentencing.

But that sentencing was postponed when the judge heard about the sex-abuse charges.

In court on Wednesday, the judge offered to delay the sentencing again, so that if Ozoria was found not guilty in the sex-abuse case he would walk away without jail time for the hit-and-run. But if he was convicted of sex abuse he’d have to cop to 2 to 6 years for the accident.

He declined.

Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez said Ozoria had “now been held accountable” for the crime.

“This defendant admitted to striking Jean Paul Guerrero and driving away, leaving a popular DJ and a beloved member of our community to tragically die in the street. He then violated the terms of his guilty plea and has now been held accountable,” Gonzalez said.

The victim’s father Humberto Guerrero thanked the judge for the “good will you have shown.”

“The resolution of this case is good for me because I’m a person of peace,” he said.
