Woman’s body found in suitcase may have been dumped in wealthy town: cops

Connecticut police said Wednesday that “numerous leads” have poured in about the woman whose bound body was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Greenwich — though they don’t believe she’s from the wealthy town.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Wednesday on the unidentified woman, who appears to be between 18 and 30. Her clothed body was found bound at her hands and feet inside the large suitcase found on Glenville Road, near Stillman Lane.

The site is roughly four miles from I-95 — and it’s possible she was killed and dumped there. Police said they don’t believe she was killed on Glenville Road, and a source told the Hartford Courant that the woman is not likely from Greenwich.

“Our priority right now is to identify the victim and notify the victim’s family,” said Greenwich police Capt. Kraig Gray.

Police are also working on determining the cause and manner of death.

The grim discovery rocked residents of the upscale town.

“I just hope they get their information and figure it out,” Chanya Champagne, who works at the Granola Bar in Greenwich, told ABC News. “It’s just crazy knowing there’s a murderer on the loose.”
