Firebug torches cement trucks in Brooklyn parking lot

A firebug torched 16 cement trucks at a Brooklyn concrete company Wednesday in a massive blaze battled by 100 firefighters, FDNY sources said.

Two of the trucks initially caught fire around 1:26 a.m. in the lot of 303 Johnson Ave. in Bushwick, where Kings Building Material and Kings Ready Mix Inc. share a space, officials said.

The blaze then quickly spread to numerous trucks throughout the yard before being brought under control by 3 a.m., according to officials. No one was injured.

The fire was started deliberately, the fire department later determined. It is being investigated by the NYPD’s arson squad.

Sources said detectives don’t believe the blaze had anything to do with organized crime, but is linked to a dispute between two groups of workers who are making differing amounts of money.

An employee at Kings Building Material on Wednesday, told a Post reporter to call Kings Ready Mix Inc., which is owned by US Concrete. There a worker who answered the phone said: “You’re calling the wrong place” before hanging up.
