Alabama man kills IHOP employee, is shot dead by employee’s son

A gunman opened fire inside an Alabama IHOP on Wednesday night — fatally wounding a 56-year-old employee before being shot dead by that man’s son.

Roderick Turner, 25, walked into the pancake house in Huntsville and started arguing about his take out order with a 56-year-old employee, according to AL.com.

Turner — who cops said was “disruptive and loud regarding the service at the business” — then pulled out a handgun and started firing.

The 56-year-old Roy Brown, Sr. was fatally shot and a second employee was wounded by gunfire.

The second employee, who cops said was Brown’s son, “pulled a handgun and shot the customer-shooter in self-defense,” cops said.

Police did not release the son’s name and said he was recovering in a hospital.

It did not appear that the wounded employee would face criminal charges, according to Huntsville Police Lt. Michael Johnson.
