Nine arrested in Florida for ‘baiting, taking and molesting’ black bears

Florida just became more unbearable.

Nine people were arrested in the Sunshine State this week for “baiting, taking and molesting” black bears and then posting the beat-downs on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, according to a release from the office of the attorney general.

The black bear bullies used dog food, doughnuts, pastries and peanut butter to corner the animals and then unleashed a “dozen dogs that repeatedly bit” them.

The forest fight clubs happened in Baker, Flagler, Marion and Union Counties, according to a statement on the year-long investigation which concluded this week.

“Not only were these gruesome acts of violence repulsive and cruel, they were recorded and posted to social media for the amusement of the defendants,” said Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. “I doubt they are laughing any longer now that they have been arrested for serious crimes.”

Christopher Elliot Haun, 42; William Landrum, 39; Mark Lindsey, 26; Dustin Reddish, 25; Haley Reddish, 25; Charles Luther Scarbrough III, 30; Hannah Weiner Scarbrough, 27; Troy Travis Starling, 45; and William Tyler Wood, 29, were slapped animal cruelty and other charges.
