Stolen tiny house found and towed for free: cops

Police found a tiny house on Wednesday after its owner reported it stolen on Sunday, officials said.

Meghan Panu, a recent college graduate, said her home was sitting in a parking spot in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, before thieves took off with it, the AP reported. Panu said that even though her tiny home had a lock on it, the alleged thieves still managed to take it.

On Wednesday, police found the home in an area called House Springs, Missouri, Sheriff Dave Marshak tweeted. No arrests were made and no suspects were identified, though several Facebook users reported seeing the house being pulled by a pickup truck on Interstate 70 west of St. Louis.

Ives Towing in Hillsboro is towing Panu’s home for free, something Marshak called an early Christmas present.

“I think the take away from all of this is, don’t steal, because you could be stealing someone’s dream,” Panu, who spent $20,000 and just over two years building her tiny dream house from scratch, told USA Today.
