Nets’ Dzanan Musa will miss a month, but it could’ve been worse

Nets first-round pick Dzanan Musa said he expects to miss a month with a shoulder injury. But considering how scared he was when it happened — unable to move or even feel his arm — he is thankful it wasn’t far, far worse.

“I fell. But it’s going to be OK,” Musa told The Post.

He suffered a left shoulder subluxation during last Sunday’s G-League game with Long Island.

“[I’ll be out] one month,” Musa said.

He considers himself fortunate. A subluxation is essentially a temporary, partial separation of the shoulder. He initially feared much worse.

“Oh yeah, because my arm just went off. I didn’t feel it for like five minutes,” Musa said. “It was numb. [I couldn’t feel it], not at all. I felt like my arm was gone, so I was pretty afraid.”

Musa was the Nets’ first-round pick, taken with the No. 29 overall selection. The 6-foot-9 wing had also missed several weeks with an ankle injury suffered playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina in FIBA World Cup qualifying just before the season.

While second-round pick Rodions Kurucs, 20, has found his way into the Nets’ rotation and has started five straight games, including Friday’s contest versus Indiana, Musa — a year younger — has made just seven appearances for Brooklyn, averaging 1.7 points in 3.7 minutes per game.

Musa is both the second-youngest player in Nets history and the second-youngest in the G-League. He has averaged a team-high 20.1 points with 7.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.4 minutes for Long Island, admittedly itching to get a call-up to the big club.

“Yeah. It’s tough sometimes, you know, because my primary goal is to be here and help the guys,” Musa said. “But I’m happy that we have this seven-game stretch of winning, so I’m happy to see the guys that are winning.”
