49ers have legit shot in this one

The Wildcat returns for his 22nd season in The Post. Including the 1997-2017 seasons in the Bettor’s Guide, Cat’s record in print stands at 595-498 (54.4 percent) against the spread.

Sunday

49ERS (+4) over Bears: The Niners are coming along nicely under Kyle Shanahan’s tutelage behind decent undrafted free-agent QB Nick Mullens. The Bears are assured of a playoff spot, but in closing out a standout regular season, there’s such a thing as being too secure, and developing San Fran could derive feel-good boost extending its long-term mastery over Chicago in Left Coast games. Khalil Mack could find himself occupied coping with the Niners’ ground game. Hello, Frisco, hello, for one unit.

SEAHAWKS (+2½) over Chiefs: Andy Reid’s troops still hold the whip hand in the AFC West, but given this week’s scheduling, neither Kansas City nor the Chargers (entertaining Baltimore) are stone locks to emerge triumphant, and it’s a long way down for the Chiefs, should they find themselves the visiting wild-card team in a No. 4 vs. No. 5 game if they fail to secure their division. You want to lay points to the tenacious Seahawks in CenturyLink? It’s been a tough eight seasons for virtually all who have tried. Seattle’s security blanket: a home date with Arizona in the Week 17 finale. Sail with the Seahawks, for one unit.

Last week: 1-1
Season: 15-17
