Dan Loeb’s hedge fund ‘fully supports’ new Campbell Soup CEO

Campbell Soup has a new chief stirring things up.

Mark Clouse, former Pinnacle Foods chief executive, will be taking the helm of the Camden, NJ-based soupmaker, Campbell announced Thursday.

Campbell, which recently settled a long-simmering proxy battle with Dan Loeb’s hedge fund Third Point, celebrated the change.

“Mark Clouse is an outstanding leader with a proven track record of operational excellence, and we are excited to name him as Campbell’s next president and CEO,” said Campbell chairman Les Vinney.

Third Point assisted with Campbell’s CEO search and “fully supports” Clouse, Campbell said.

The Post reported earlier this week that Loeb assured Clouse that he would have plenty of elbow room to run the company.

Clouse will assume the top spot on Jan. 22 — eight months after the sudden departure of former CEO Denise Morrison.

“I am honored to lead Campbell and its portfolio of iconic brands into the next chapter of the company’s storied history,” Clouse said in a statement.

Clouse served as a pilot in the US Army and is a graduate of West Point
