Protesters interrupt Cuomo’s speech to rip Amazon

Protesters opposed to the deal bringing Amazon to New York City disrupted Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s speech outlining his 2019 agenda in Midtown on Monday.

“Hey, hey, ho, ho. Amazon has got to go,” the hecklers yelled before being escorted out of the New York City Bar Association building.

One of the protesters, Alex Pellitteri, 18, is a student at Hunter College and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

“Andrew Cuomo is a big supporter of Amazon. Andrew Cuomo is prioritizing corporate interests over the needs of his constituents,” Pellitteri said of the $2.8 billion incentive package that the governor and Mayor Bill de Blasio offered Amazon to locate a headquarters in Long Island City.

“Amazon is going to create gentrification,” Pellitteri told The Post after being escorted outside by state police.

Cuomo and de Blasio defended the deal, noting that Amazon has promised to create 25,000 to 40,000 jobs.
