Jets will be without top weapons Enunwa, Crowell vs. Texans

The Jets will be without their top receiver and their leading rusher when they meet J.J. Watt and the Texans on Saturday.

Quincy Enunwa (ankle) and Isaiah Crowell (toe) did not practice all week, and they officially have been ruled out for this weekend after suffering their injuries in Sunday’s 27-23 win over Buffalo.

Elijah McGuire, who ran in the go-ahead touchdown against the Bills, also was limited in practice with an ankle injury, but rookie Trenton Cannon (toe) was a full participant.

McGuire has been listed as questionable, but if he plays, the young duo should shoulder the majority of the ball-carrying load against Houston.

“It’s a good opportunity. You like what you see, so they get a chance to prove themselves,” Todd Bowles said. “[McGuire] is a confident guy to begin with, and when he’s out there, he does a heck of a job for us. We look forward to him getting better.”

McGuire sat out the first eight games of the season with a broken foot, but he totaled 60 yards on 17 carries against the Bills, plus another 23 yards on three receptions out of the backfield.

This will mark the first time in Crowell’s career he will sit out, after appearing in 77 consecutive games with Cleveland and the Jets. Enunwa leads the Jets with 38 receptions for 449 yards with one touchdown.

Linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu also is out due to a concussion, while linebacker Jordan Jenkins (shoulder/ankle) and cornerback Trumaine Johnson (foot) have been listed as questionable.

Jason Myers already has tallied a career-high 114 points — connecting on 30-of-32 field-goal attempts, with a long of 56 yards — after the Jets claimed the former Jacksonville kicker off waivers from Seattle in August.

“I knew we were getting a strong leg, and we knew he could it put through there. But the accuracy has been outstanding since he’s been here,” Bowles said. “That part we didn’t know, as far as the consistency, on the long field goals. But in that weather, coming from a warm weather team, he’s proven to be a presence for us.”
