Reuben Foster accuser Elissa Ennis comes forward: 49ers interfered with cops

After she allegedly was beaten by her football-playing on-again, off-again boyfriend, she says she watched his team try to coax police into disbelieving her story.

Elissa Ennis, who says she dated linebacker Reuben Foster for parts of four years, has accused Foster of hitting her at a Tampa, Fla., hotel on Nov. 24, and she said the 49ers — who eventually would cut Foster over the allegations — attempted to undermine her case.

“Even when I called the police, the 49ers came up there,” Ennis told “Good Morning America” in an interview that aired Thursday morning. “I have pictures of the 49ers going up there, trying to talk to police and saying I’m the same ex-girlfriend that sat up there and lied.”

The 49ers declined comment to the ABC program.

Ennis said she was there with Foster to discuss their relationship. And when she told him that she would tell his new girlfriend that he paid to fly Ennis there, she says he “slapped me and pushed me.”

Ennis, who had bruises on her neck and face after the altercation, said this has happened several times with Foster. She accused him of battery earlier this year but later recanted the story and dropped the charges.

“Because I loved him,” she said, when asked to explain why. “And love will have you doing things that are not in your best interest.”

The latest set of allegations were finally too much for San Francisco. Days afterward, the Redskins picked him up off waivers, which Ennis said felt like “a slap in the face.”

“I couldn’t believe someone picked him in up in how many hours? I was shocked,” Ennis said.
