Tom Brady’s new breakout receiver stole the show

Billed as a battle between two of the GOATs, Sunday night’s matchup between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers really came down to Josh Gordon.

Brady and the Patriots commenced the game with a 10-play drive for a touchdown then put the game to rest with a 55-yard touchdown pass to Gordon.

Gordon, the former Brown, hauled in four passes for 101 yards in a 31-17 victory at Gillette Stadium. It was the second time in three games Brady and his new best receiver went over the century mark.

The Patriots have been hard to mark. Another wideout, Cordarrelle Patterson, filled in as a running back for the second straight week and scored a touchdown on the ground. Wideout Julian Edelman threw a 37-yard pass.

Edelman had the best passing percentage of any thrower Sunday night.

Brady (22-of-35 for 294 yards and 1 TD) and Rodgers (24-for-43 for 259 yards and 2 TDs) didn’t play their best. But when the Patriots needed points after sacking Rodgers, it was Gordon who proved to be the difference maker in Foxborough, Mass.
