Prep coach threatens to send player back to Haiti in profane, viral clip

A Florida prep school basketball coach had to issue an apology after a profanity-laced, three-minute audio clip was posted on YouTube on Tuesday.

In the clip, Nation Christian Academy CEO/president Mike Woodbury can be heard telling player Marvens Petion: “I control transcripts, I control where you go next. It could be back to Haiti, motherf—-r, that’s how easy it is for me.”

Woodbury, who admitted to Stadium that it was, in fact, him on the recording, told Petion, “I’m the dirtiest, baddest motherf—-r in this earth. … I’m going to f–k you in your ass the next time you talk out of line. I’m going to take everything from you. Let it be known, I’m saying it out loud. I’m going to take everything from you, I’m going to end everything you’ve ever had.”

The coach accused Petion of several offenses, including having alcohol in his room, thefts and attempted extortion. Petion, who comes from Haiti and says he is being recruited by some mid-major schools, denied the allegations.

According to a Wednesday release from Woodbury via Twitter, arrangements were made for Petion and the school to part ways.

“The comment about ‘returning to Haiti’ was not a threat, but to make the student aware that his criminal behavior would risk him being sent. Despite all of what is circulating, I wish this student nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”
