Ex-public administrator allegedly ripped off dead people to fund lavish lifestyle

A former city public administrator has been busted for ghoulishly gutting the estate’s of eight dead people to book a cruise, buy cars and pay rent, authorities said Wednesday.

Fitzroy Thompson stole around $78,325 while working as a case manager for the Office of the Kings County Public Administrator — which processes the estates of Brooklyn residents who die without leaving a will —- between July 2017 and April 2018, prosecutors said.

The 36-year-old is accused of heartlessly using the deceased’s credit cards and checking accounts as his own personal piggy banks, spending their life savings to book a Carnival Cruise Line jaunt, buy JetBlue tickets to the Bahamas, and purchase a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2016 Nissan Altima.

He also dropped the funds on rent for his two Park Slope homes, according to prosecutors.

Thompson pleaded “not guilty” Wednesday as he was arraigned on various charges, including grand larceny and identity theft.

He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
