Ex-con who allegedly disemboweled wife cursed out by victim’s supporters

Supporters for a Bronx mom who allegedly was disemboweled by her ex-con husband cursed at him as he left a Bronx courtroom on Thursday.

“I hope you f—king die!” one onlooker screamed at Virgil Solis, who police said brutally murdered Valerie Dash last month.

The 58-year-old parolee fatally stabbed his wife, 55, multiple times in her Tremont apartment on Sept. 10 before calling up her child’s father and gloating, “Go get your daughter. I just killed her mother,” cops said.

Solis had been under Department of Correction monitoring at the time after serving 18 years in prison for roughing up a woman who didn’t want to have sex with him, according to officials.
He pleaded not guilty in Bronx Supreme Court on Thursday to charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

A group of about a dozen people were in court on Dash’s behalf and had nothing but anger for Solis, cursing at him as he left the courtroom. The observers declined to comment.

Prosecutors say Solis accused Dash of cheating on him and intentionally dragged the knife across her abdomen.

After Solis allegedly murdered Valerie and bragged to her family and his parole officer about what he had done, he cut off his ankle monitor and fled until cops caught up with him later in downtown Manhattan, authorities said.

Solis told cops, “At least now, I don’t have to worry about another man f–king my wife,” according to prosecutors.

His lawyer declined to comment.

Solis is due back in court on Jan. 9.
