Comedian Susie Essman — best known as the foul-mouthed, tell-it-like-it-is Susie Greene in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” — and her husband James Harder are selling their upstate home for $997,000.
The stately property at 1182 River Road in Selkirk, NY — a suburb of Albany — sits on 6 acres. Built in 1922, the 3,000-square-foot property comes with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Harder, who is a retired designer and builder, spent eight years fixing up the house alongside Essman. While she doesn’t quite want to leave, the two are empty-nesters now — with four kids out of the house — and it’s time for a new adventure.
“It really is a magical place,” says Essman. “We fell in love with it and knew we needed to take care of her and restore her. And we did.”
The residence opens to a sunny center hall. The first floor also has a glass-enclosed veranda that leads to a large deck and a swimming pool. A covered walkway heads to a separate guest suite over the detached garage.
Back in the main house, the second-floor master suite has a walk-in closet and a dressing area.
Other touches include a winding driveway, a barn and Hudson River views.
The listing broker is Conrad Hanson of House Hudson Valley Realty.
