Stabbing victim recalls moment mom died trying to protect her

A young woman recalled on the stand Monday the terrifying moment she was stabbed while celebrating her Fourth of July birthday — moments before her mother was murdered trying to protect her.

Tomiesha Abraham, 23, testified at a pretrial hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court to determine whether she had clearly seen her assailant Ashanti Daniels.

Abraham said they got into the deadly brawl July 5, 2016, at about 2 a.m. in the building’s hallway after Daniels barked, “What the f–k are you looking at?”

She said that Daniels, who lived on the same floor as the apartment where she was celebrating her 21st birthday, was drunk and “her clothes were like half off.”

Abraham said of the fight,, “She’s trying to get to me, I’m trying to get to her and by this time she has a knife in her hand.”

Moments later, Daniels allegedly stabbed her in the arm and torso.

Abraham fled, trying to escape the building on Lenox Avenue near West 115th Street, but encountered Daniels on a lower floor.

“She walked right past me and laughed in my face. I told her I didn’t want any problems,” said Abraham, who didn’t know yet that Daniels had allegedly murdered her mom, Michelle Kenny, 39.

Daniels murder trial is expected to begin this week before Justice A.Kirke Bartley Jr.
