115-pounder lands ‘greatest one-punch KO in women’s UFC history’

Strawweight contender Jessica Andrade sprinted across the Octagon when the UFC 228 co-main event got underway on Saturday in Texas and started landing bombs.

She had her opponent, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, wobbled early, and she never took her foot off the gas with the finish always imminent.

After ducking out of the way of a punch, Andrade delivered the killer blow with an overhand right that landed right on the button.

After the fight, Andrade pointed to UFC president Dana White sitting in the front row and called for her inclusion on the year-end card for a shot at the title.

“Dana, I’m ready. I’m here to prove I’m better than I’ve ever been. There are two Brazilians fighting for a title on the year-end card — I want to be fighting on that card, too,” Andrade said.

Former UFC champion BJ Penn labeled the immense punch the “greatest one-punch knockout in women’s history.”

Andrade’s victory also came in historic fashion as it makes her the first woman in UFC history to notch 10 victories inside the Octagon.
