Tom Brady appears to publicly support Colin Kaepernick

Tom Brady stands up for little. A MAGA hat in his locker? Brady has refused to be pinned down, pro- or anti-President Trump, since.

He tries to ooze aw-shucks goodness in every media interview, his lone controversial stance being a training and dieting brand that also puts money in his wallet.

And yet the Patriots superstar appeared to show public support for the most polarizing athlete in all of sports.

Brady’s Instagram account “liked” several posts featuring Colin Kaepernick’s new Nike advertisement after the brand and the former 49ers quarterback launched the 30th-anniversary edition of “Just Do It.”

Brady has been (in)famously silent on his political thoughts since Trump, whom he has golfed with and who cites him as a friend, has taken office. Trump has led the attacks on the NFL since Kaepernick spearheaded the anthem movement, in which he and several players would take a knee to protest police brutality and systemic racism.

A subtle “like” might be Brady’s way of taking a side.

Kaepernick has not been signed since opting out of his contract in 2017 and has filed a grievance against the league, alleging its owners have conspired to keep him unemployed.

In November, Brady was asked on WEEI about his former quarterback counterpart, and he again did his best not to take a stance.

“You know, I don’t know. … I have no idea if he’s being blackballed,” Brady said. “… I think he was a … I competed against him. I thought he was a damn good quarterback. And he’s played at a high level, brought his team to Super Bowls. You know … that’s how I feel about him.”
