Wild video shows cars floating down river after dealership flood

At least a dozen vehicles from a New Jersey car dealership were sent floating down a river during a weekend flash flood.

Videos posted to social media show the vans, sedans and trucks bobbing down the swollen Peckman River next to Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Little Falls, and then smashing into each other under a Route 46 overpass.

“It was crazy around here,” said a woman who works at a gun shop that also flooded after thunderstorms dumped 5 inches of rain on the area. “A lot of cars got pulled in. There was a lot of damage in a small amount of time.”

A towing-company owner said it took hours to haul the soaked vehicles to shore.

“They’re all filled with mud, rocks and whatever you can flush into a car,” Vincent Cleffi of Ajaco Towing told ABC-7.

Dealership owner Frank Espostito was out Sunday afternoon surveying the damage, said a woman who answered his home phone.
