Pet-store chain tricked us into buying sick puppy: suit

Two sisters were duped into buying a sick Yorkie puppy from the embattled Manhattan pet-store chain Citipups, and the tiny dog died within days, according to a complaint filed with the state Attorney General’s Office.

Sofia and Dominique Booth say they had been searching for an emotional-support dog for 22-year-old Dominique, who is recovering from an eating disorder, when they spotted little Frankie at the chain’s Christopher Street location on May 20.

But they grew worried when Frankie, who cost $2,580.34, threw up in a cab on the way home, and two days later, they carted the puppy to a vet at the Heart of Chelsea Animal Clinic, according to Sofia and the complaint.

Frankie ended up continuing to get worse and was euthanized May 29, the papers state.

Citipups denied that the puppy was unfit for sale.
