The other ignored anthem kneeler might have another NFL shot

One high-profile national anthem kneeler may have a chance to get back on an NFL roster — but it won’t be Colin Kaepernick.

Free-agent safety Eric Reid, who joined 49ers teammate Kaepernick’s protest and has since joined him on the NFL unemployment line, could be an injury replacement for the Titans.

Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel announced Thursday safety Johnathan Cyprien will miss the season with a torn left ACL and named Reid among the potential replacements at the position.

Cyprien left practice Wednesday after grabbing at his left knee.

The Titans have Kendrick Lewis and Demontre Hurst among the other options at safety on the roster.

Vrabel said the Titans are in the process of trying to bring in Reid, along with other safeties, for a workout.

Reid, who played in 13 games last season and started 12 and was a Pro Bowler in 2013, has not gotten much interest this offseason. He visited with the Bengals, but the meeting reportedly went south when Reid wouldn’t promise he wouldn’t kneel during the anthem.
