Shark stolen from San Antonio aquarium reportedly in good condition

Looks like the stolen Texas stroller shark is the luckiest fish in the world.

After fearing that the missing horn shark might not make it after it was found alive, officials at the San Antonio Aquarium say the sea creature is actually in “very good condition” because the thieves who took it away using a stroller earlier in the day Monday actually knew what they were doing, according to a report.

“She’s a little fighter. She’s a little survivor,” aquarium spokesperson Jamie Shank said about the shark, whom they dubbed Ms. Helen, according to KABB TV.

The station said that after cops found one of the suspects’ homes with the help of a license plate, the fish was found to be “thriving” because of the good care the crook had given it.

“Luckily the thief was someone who knew what he was doing,” Leon Valley Police Chief Joseph Salvaggio told the station.

The chief also said two suspects have confessed to the aquatic crime. One, age 38, could face a felony charge. A third has not confessed, he said.

It was also discovered that at about the time the shark went missing, a posting went up on Facebook offering to sell a horn shark for $300 in the San Antonio area, according to reports. It was not clear if the sale offer was made by the thieves.
