Here are the A’s prospects Mets are getting for Jeurys Familia

Jeurys Familia’s Mets career officially became past tense Saturday afternoon in a swap that brought two minor league players and international bonus pool money from Oakland.

The Mets received third baseman William Toffey and right-handed pitcher Bobby Wahl in the deal. The 23-year-old Toffey was assigned to Double-A Binghamton and the 26-year-old Wahl to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Toffey was rated as Oakland’s No. 17 prospect by MLB.com. He had a .741 OPS in 48 games this year for Single-A Stockton. Toffey was Oakland’s fourth-round pick in the 2017 draft.

Wahl, a reliever, appeared in seven games for Oakland last season and posted a 4.70 ERA. Wahl, the A’s fifth-round pick in the 2013 draft, underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome earlier in his career.

“This trade hits three major areas,” assistant general manager John Ricco said in a statement. “We got a major league ready reliever our scouts recommended, a position player who was a high selection from the 2017 draft and strong prospect in the A’s system as well as receiving international bonus pool money to help in the future.”

Familia was withheld from Friday’s game against the Yankees when it became evident a trade was near. He said his goodbyes to teammates that night, as the Mets and A’s worked to complete the deal.

In 40 appearances this season Familia was 4-4 with a 2.88 ERA and 17 saves in 21 opportunities. He is headed to free agency after this season.

“The A’s are lucky to have a quality guy and quality pitcher in Familia,” manager Mickey Callaway said after the Mets lost 7-6 to the Yankees. “He has done a great job for this organization. I know the fans, the coaching staff and the players are going to miss him, but understand it’s also necessary at this point to try and strengthen our team in the future and it sounds like we did a pretty good job of that.”

The Mets likely aren’t finished dealing as they move toward the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. Asdrubal Cabrera, who is also headed to free agency after the season, is expected to be dealt, and the Mets have received solid interest in Zack Wheeler.

Wilmer Flores, Jose Bautista and Devin Mesoraco are among the other players the Mets could trade.
