Restaurants near Central Park offering take-out picnic baskets

Restaurants are getting creative this summer, offering picnic baskets for the park.

On the Upper West Side, The Milling Room’s executive chef, Phillip Kirschen-Clark, has created picnic baskets for pick-up from the eatery, just “one avenue” away from Central Park and the Museum of Natural History, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

There are prix fixe options or á la carte. The baskets take 30 minutes to prepare and come with a blanket.

Meanwhile, on the East Side, Davio’s Manhattan is also offering a picnic basket with salads, sandwiches and desserts — $95 for two, available weekdays by ordering one hour in advance.

The baskets come with water, but at the eatery they are also offering frozen drinks like Frozen Italian Rosé, or “Frosé” with Elouan Rose, Campari, lemon juice and fresh raspberries; and Frozen La Flora, with Tito’s Vodka, hibiscus, and lemon.
