Girlfriend of accused cop shooter allegedly maced officer

They were meant for each other.

The girlfriend of accused cop-shooter Kelvin Stechel was charged in Brooklyn court Sunday for allegedly blasting cop with pepper spray and smashing her neighbor in the head with a beer bottle in two separate incidents.

Cops arrested Tarnita Jacobs, 38, on Friday — not long after her beau Stechel was collared for shooting Det. Miguel Soto, 32, in the leg as the officer pursued him on a warrant.

The crimes were unrelated to Stechel’s shootout with cops.

Jacobs, a school bus driver who is currently collecting workers’ compensation, allegedly pepper-sprayed a plainclothes officer last month who was trying to arrest Stechel — allowing her beau to get away.

“The defendant refused to turn around and began to flail arms and struggled with detectives … then pepper sprayed them both about the face,” Assistant District Attorney John Arias said during Jacobs’ arraignment.

Jacobs’ Legal Aid attorney Dana Cohen claimed her client didn’t know the men were cops and believed “she was going to be raped.”

Jacobs was hit with two counts of second-degree assault, and judge Theresa Ciccotto ordered her held on $100,000 bail.

The lawyer griped that the amount was “insane,” earning a swift rebuke from the jurist.

“It might be insane to you now, but that’s what’s going to happen,” Ciccotto said.

The court slapped Jacobs with another second-degree assault charge for repeatedly hitting her neighbor in the head with a beer bottle during a March argument.

Cohen claimed that Jacobs “wasn’t there.”

Jacobs was ordered held on $5,000 bail in that case.

She is set to return to court July 12.

Stechel is accused of squeezing off six shots at Soto and his partner in Bedford-Stuyvesant Friday morning when they tried to arrest him on a domestic violence warrant related to his alleged mistreatment of Jacobs.

Stechel, who was hit in the leg, spent Friday and Saturday handcuffed to a bed at Brookdale Hospital and was awaiting arraignment Sunday. Soto was treated at Kings County Hospital and released.
