A Queens woman faced a host of criminal counts on Thursday in connection to a crazy hit-and-run crash that ended with her allegedly giving away her year-old baby to a stranger.

Malikah George, 25, was arrested Thursday after crashing her car into a school in Ozone Park and giving the child to a female bystander on the street, along with a note with the name and phone number of the baby’s dad, according to witnesses and prosecutors.

Then hours after the crash, George returned to the scene and spoke to a WABC-TV news crew as a witness — before admitting she was actually the baby-dumping driver. It was not clear how she was arrested.

“I learn that we all make mistakes. We have to admit them. I don’t take back what I did,” George told cops, according to Queens Assistant DA Barry Pinto. “Did you guys see me on TV? ”

She was put on supervised release after the Queens court hearing. The DA did not ask for an order of protection to keep George away from her baby girl – who is in the care of Children’s Services.

George and her lawyer declined comment as they left court. They sprinted west on Queens Boulevard, outrunning reporters shouting questions at them.

She was charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child, leaving the scene of an incident and several vehicle traffic laws including driving without a license, registration or insurance.

“The defendant in this case apparently panicked after an alleged fender bender turned into a car chase and the young mother lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a fence,” according to a statement by Queens DA Richard Brown.

“Acknowledging that she does not have a driver’s license nor insurance for the automobile, the mother is alleged to have run from the area and left the child with a woman on the street. Fortunately the baby girl was unhurt and safe, but parents must always be mindful that regardless of the circumstances the safety and well-being of one’s children must be the top priority.”
