Trump says he’s still waiting for apology from Bob Iger

President Donald Trump on Thursday once more weighed in on the fiasco surrounding Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet by again demanding an apology from Disney CEO Bob Iger, claiming Iger and ABC “offended millions of people.”

”Iger, where is my call of apology? You and ABC have offended millions of people, and they demand a response. How is Brian Ross doing? He tanked the market with an ABC lie, yet no apology,” Trump wrote on his Twitter account, adding: “Double Standard!”

Trump sought an apology from Iger on Wednesday after the network executive called Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is black, to let her know ABC was dropping the comedian’s hit TV show following a tweet in which Barr compared Jarrett to an ape.

”Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC,” Trump tweeted.

The president was referring to ABC’s Brian Ross’ incorrect report in December 2017 that Trump ordered his former national security adviser Michael Flynn to reach out to Russian officials before the election.

It sent the Dow plummeting 350 points.

Ross later clarified his report that the request happened after the election, and ABC apologized for the mistake and suspended Ross for four weeks without pay.

Flynn in December 2017 pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak after the election.

He is cooperating in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the election.

The White House also referred to ABC’s action against Barr as a “double standard” when the matter came up at Wednesday’s White House briefing.

“The president’s pointing to the hypocrisy in the media saying the most horrible things about this president, and nobody addresses it,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said. “This is a double standard that the president is speaking about. No one is defending her comments — they’re inappropriate — but that’s the point he was making.”
